The Frankfort Community Public Library announced that it will host its last concert of the 2024 season featuring Matthew Ball, known as The Boogie Woogie Kid, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Skanta Theatre in Frankfort.
Following attendance of a hometown boogie-woogie festival, Ball was inspired by the performances he witnessed, prompting him to leave his career as an attorney to become a blues and boogie-woogie performing artist. Since his career transition, Ball has become an internationally-recognized practitioner, performing across the country in 12 different states.
“Let this piano viruoso dazzle you with a repertoire spanning the 1920s, 30s and 40s that is appropriate for all ages,” the library released.
Tickets for the last concert of the season may be purchased for $12 at the Frankfort Library circulation desk with cash, check or credit card. Tickets may also be reserved over the phone with a credit card.
