Clinton County Republican Chairman Jim Moyer has announced that he has received word from the Clinton County Clerk that a vacancy exists in an elective office following the resignation of Mike Brite as City Councilman District 3.
A caucus will be held on Saturday, October 21, at 10 a.m. to fill the vacancy. Only Republican precinct chairman in District 3 (this includes precincts 9 through 12) will vote.
A person wishing to be a candidate for this position must file a Declaration of Candidacy with the Republican Chairman before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18.
A Declaration of Candidacy (form CEB-5) may be obtained from Republican headquarters or the City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in Old Stoney at 301 E. Clinton St., Frankfort.
County Clerk will be notified of selection on October 23 and new Councilman takes office on this date.
