Clinton County And Area Contested Races From Tuesday

It was a red wave in Indiana on a local, state and National level in Tuesday’s midterms. Steady lines and one hour waits were reported all throughout Clinton County.

Winners in Clinton County were County Council District 1 Republican Carol Price with 72 percent of the vote over David Riggs and County Council District 3 Republican Joe Mink with 75 percent of the vote over Mark Newhart.

For Kirklin Town Council Jennifer Bowman and Jerry Faucett were winners.

In the Clinton Central School Board District 10 Gina Crenshaw beat Craig Sheets with 66 percent of the vote.

At Clinton Prairie for School Board district 17 it was Cynthia Neal with 63 percent of the vote over Toby Boyer and Clinton Prairie School Board at large it was Justin Brewer over Rob Allen by just 3 percent.

For District 41 State Representative, Republican Mark Genda was a big winner over Greg Woods with nearly 76 percent of the vote in Clinton County.

In Carroll County for sheriff, Republican Tony Liggett with 55 percent of the votes over challenger Mark Pinkard. Also, the Carroll County school referendum failed by a 55-45 margin.

In Boone County Commissioner District 1 Tim Beyer Republican a winner over challenger Erin Brewster. Beyer won with 61 percent of the vote. Boone County Council District 1, Jennifer Hostetter was a winner over Matt Farmer with 57 percent of the vote. For Boone County Council District 4, it was Aaron Williams with 55 percent of the vote over Democrat Tony Teal.

In Tippecanoe County, incumbent sheriff Bob Goldsmith defeated Jason Huber by collecting 59 percent of the votes cast.

In Tipton County, Matthew Tebbe won the sheriff’s race as he defeated Lea Stout with just under 55 percent of the vote.

Winners of contested races in Howard County were Debra Stewart (Circuit County Clerk, 71 percent),Torie Kelley (Recorder, 71 percent), Melinda Heady (Assessor, 72 percent), Jeff Lipinski (Commissioner District 1, 69 percent), John Roberts (County Council District 1, 72 percent), Frank Faulkner (County Council District 2, 71 percent), Tim Cuthbert (County Council District 3, 52 percent0 and George Alexander (County Council District 4, 71 percent).

Thirty-four percent of the registered voters voted in Clinton County with just over 7,000 ballots cast.
