
On June 17, 1944, Donald was married to Myrtle Ruth Clark in Danville, Indiana; they later divorced. On September 17, 1977, he was united in marriage to Mary Janette (Hiland) Brown Wolfe at their home in Brownsburg.
Having spent most of his life in Hendricks County, Donald was a 1942 graduate of Pittsboro High School. He spent 40 years farming in Hendricks County, specifically the Pittsboro and Brownsburg areas, retiring in 1993. He and Mary moved to Lebanon in 1996.
Donald held memberships with the Pittsboro United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge #635 of Lebanon. His hobbies included woodworking and windmills. Donald was a devoted family man who loved when his family was all together, laughing and enjoying life.
Survivors include his children, Jerry P. (Joyce) Wolfe of Rockville, Edwin L. (Sharon) Wolfe of Spencer, Janet R. (Wayne) Shaw of Martinsville, Alice M. (Sam) Boyden of McLean, Illinois, and Amy J. (Ronnie) Lofton of Lizton; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Toney; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great–great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his beloved Mary, Donald was preceded in death by a son, David W. Wolfe; daughter, Reta J. Mullins; brothers, Ledner Wolfe and Robert Wolfe; sisters, Catherine Coleman and Laurabel Pruitt; and a grandson, Jason Wolfe.
Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.
