Everyone is reminded that Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 6, as all of us need to turn our clocks backward one hour to 1 a.m. Local Standard Time instead. This means we all get an extra hour of sleep that night.
This also means that sunrise and sunset will be about an hour earlier on Sunday than the day before. There will be more light in the morning and get dark earlier in the evening.
Daylight Saving Time in most of the United States starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. Arizona, with the exception of the Navajo Nation, and Hawaii doesn’t use Daylight Savings Time as well as the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and American Samoa. At least 40 countries worldwide Daylight Saving Time, including most of Canada, though the majority of Saskatchewan and parts of northeastern British Columbia don’t participate. Indiana introduced DST in 2006.
The next time change after this coming weekend will be on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
