The Frankfort High School wrestling team competed Saturday in its home duals by winning two of five dual meets. The Hot Dogs beat Shelbyville and Sheridan while losing to Parke Heritage, Kokomo, and Lebanon.
The Dogs had some individual success with Leo Roa, Miguel Hernandez, and Daniel Martinez going 4-1 on the day, while Jocelyn Cruz, Jose Roa, and Brandon Delgado went 3-2.
The Dogs are back in action on Wednesday for the County meet at Clinton Prairie.
Rossville Boys Fall to Western
Western outscored Rossville in every quarter Saturday night on its way to a 64-48 victory over the Hornets.
Charlie Thompson led Rossville with 16 points and eight rebounds. Brayden Thiele-Hah added 13 points and a team-high five assists.
Frankfort Girls Lose to Tri-West
Despite playing well in the second half, Frankfort fell 62-20 to Tri-West on Friday night. FHS was down 18-2 after a quarter and 38-6 at halftime.
Leading the way for Frankfort was Vannessa Guardado with 10 points. Ella McAtee and Saira Flores each tallied four.
Carroll tops Rossville in Girls’ Action
Carroll outscored Rossville 19-11 in the second half on its way to a 43-38 victory over Lady Hornets in Rossville.
Rossville used a big second quarter to erase a five-point deficit to take a 27-24 halftime lead.
Ava Burkle led Rossville with 15 points and four assists. Allie Elliott added 11 points and nine assists.
