John Large Officially Named to District 3 Frankfort City Council Position

New Frankfort City Councilman John Large, right, has a discussion with Republican Party Chairman Jim Moyer after he won the caucus to fill a city council vacancy.

What was assumed to happen did Tuesday afternoon following the Republican Party caucus as John Large was named to fill the District 3 Frankfort City Council position, which became available following the resignation of Mike Brite.

Large was named to the spot in November following a caucus where he defeated Scott Highlander. That was to fill out Brite’s term as councilman. Tuesday’s vote was done to name Large to a four-year spot on the City Council.

Republican Party Chairman Jim Moyer explained why this had to be done.

“Previously, we had to get John Large in for the remainder of Mike Brite’s term,” said Moyer. “Because he had resigned early, he was actually re-elected because his name was still on the ballot. So. he came in and resigned again. We had the second caucus where we elected John Large to a four-year term.”
