Meridith Sloan

Mrs. Meridith Ann Sloan, 80, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis surrounded by family. She was born on July 21, 1943, in Indianapolis to the late Harold Curtis Stoner and Velva (Emmert) Stoner.

She was married to Gerald Flowers in New Brunswick in September 1961; they later divorced. On December 1, 1967, she was united in marriage to James Oren “Jim” Sloan, in Lebanon. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2012.

A life-long resident of Boone County, Meridith was a 1961 graduate of Pinnell High School. She held various jobs in the community, including serving as an Instructional Assistant in the Lebanon Community School District for 15 years. She also spent time working at the office of the Boone County Auditor.

Meridith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s various activities. After her family, her second love was sports, especially basketball. Meridith was also a Cincinnati Reds super fan dating back to the Big Red Machine.

Survivors include her children, Rick (Terri) Sloan of Lebanon, Charles Sloan of Gaithersburg, MD, Cindy (Jim) Koryciak of Folkston, GA, George (Erin) Sloan of Nolensville, TN, and Jami Sloan (Partner Stacey Bogardus) of Whitestown, IN; grandchildren, Brandon Lashbrook, Zachary (Tess) Sloan, Courtney (Eric) Reagan, Sydney (Marcus) Bastianelli, Eli Sloan, and Brynner Sloan; great-grandchildren, Aaron Lashbrook and Zander Reagan; and sister, Linda Woodard.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Meridith was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie Heffner and brother, Harold W. Stoner

Visitation is planned from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in her memory to the Lebanon Sports Boosters or Lebanon Music Boosters via check payable to the organization of choice and mailed to Lebanon High School.
