Meveral Cyrus Thistlethwaite, 71, of Lebanon, passed away December 19, 2023, at Witham Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on February 9, 1952, a son of the late Meveral Earl Thistlethwaite and Shirley Ann (Uhler) Thistlethwaite.
On October 10, 1987, Cyrus was married to Kathy (Chadwick) Thistlethwaite in Sheridan; she survives.
He was a 1970 graduate of Sheridan High School. After graduating from high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for four years and retired from the Army National Guard after 23 years of dedicated service.
Cyrus was a drapery installer and he and his wife, Kathy, owned and operated New Creations in Arcadia, Indiana for many years. He attended Eagle Creek Friends Church in Westfield. He enjoyed listening to music but most of all he enjoyed playing his guitar and mandolin.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; children, Helen (Matt) Hohne; Anthony (Ronesia) Thistlethwaite; grandchildren, Josiah Hohne, Kiya Thistlethwaite, Eukiya, Jaekiya, Daijon, and Jaidon. He was a grandfather figure to so many others including his son-in-law’s family. His brother, Michael (Connie) Thistlethwaite; sister, Patricia (Tim) Maddox; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Kenneth Baker; sister, Margery Burkhardt; and brother-in-law, Steven Burkhardt.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
