Sharon “Sherry” Lee Murphy, 81, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born in Lebanon, on January 15, 1943; a daughter of the late Cecil Harlan Loveless and Bessie Evelyn (Arnold) Loveless.
Sherry graduated from Thorntown High School in 1961.
On April 6, 1979, she was married to James Walter “Jim” Murphy, at the Central Christian Church in Lebanon. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2021.
Sherry was a supervisor of commissions accountings at USF & G in Indianapolis for 14 years. She was a manager at United Methodist Children’s Home in Lebanon and at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Indianapolis. From 2003-2014 she was an assistant administrator at Harbor Chase of Venice in Florida.
Devoted to her faith, Sherry’s strong religious beliefs guided her actions and brought comfort to those around her. In addition to her devotion to faith, she found joy in bike riding and exercising.
Survivors include her three sisters, Judith Widner, Diana Martin, Cecelia Crouch and her beloved friend, Penny Chrisman.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Loveless and her sister, Linda Huber.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Lincoln Memory Gardens, 6851 South Indianapolis Road, in Whitestown, Indiana. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
