Two-Time Olympic Bronze Medalist Receives Accolades From Zionsville Community

The Town of Zionsville celebrated a Zionsville resident who has achieved two Olympic medals in the sport of volleyball following his return from Paris earlier this week.

On Monday, Aug. 19, Zionsville Mayor John Stehr designated the day as Matt Anderson Day in celebration of four-time Olympian and local Zionsville resident Matt Anderson. This year, Anderson was a member of the 2024 bronze medal-winning men’s volleyball team, marking his second Olympic bronze medal for the sport of volleyball.

“Having just returned from Paris with the U.S. Olympic team, Matt is taking some time to catch up with family before heading back to practice,” Stehr released. “Join us in celebrating this exciting moment and all the successes of Matt and the entire team of U.S. athletes.”

Anderson and his wife, Jackie, remain true to the Zionsville way of life with their two children for which he was honored due to his service to the country and being an inspiration for local athletes seeking greatness in their athletic endeavors.
