The Wesley Manor Tour of Trees will kick off on Wednesday, from 5:30-8 p.m. at 1555 N. Main St. in Frankfort with a remote broadcast from WILO from 4-6 p.m. sponsored by Wesley Manor.
The Wesley Manor Tour of Trees is showcasing Christmas masterpieces from community organizations that may be voted upon by members of the community utilizing non-perishable food. With just over 15 trees decorated by local organizations being displayed throughout the facility, community members will be able to form cherished Christmas memories with their friends and family while helping the community prosper. Melissa Robertson, Director of Life Enrichment at Wesley Manor, stated that the non-perishable goods may be exchanged for tickets to vote for the “best” tree being displayed, and the winner of the most votes will be announced on WILO’s Partyline on Dec. 15 at 8:30 a.m.
“It’s kind of a service project for our community–the community of residents to give back as well as a way for people outside of Wesley Manor to also give back,” Robertson said. “That’s why we connect it with a food drive. For every canned good that someone brings in, they will earn a voting ticket.
“Also on that evening, the Wesley Manor greenhouse is going to be open, and they will have inside the greenhouse five decorated trees as well,” Robertson said. “A lot of people don’t realize that we have a pretty active greenhouse here, so it’s kind of a nice way to kind of show the community what goes on in our greenhouse.”
Community members will also be invited to explore the entirety of Wesley Manor, including the activity centers and spiritual life centers where they may meet Santa and Mrs. Claus while enjoying Christmas refreshments.
