Republican Jake Myers Files for Clinton County Sheriff

Republican Jake Myers officially filed for Clinton County Sheriff. Myers, a  28-year law enforcement veteran, has spent his entire career protecting and serving the people of Clinton County.

“Protecting and serving my family, friends, and neighbors is the greatest honor in life,” said Myers. “As your next sheriff, I’ll always remember who I work for – the people. I’ll focus on what matters most to our county – keeping Clinton County Hoosiers safe, restoring integrity and honesty back to the Sheriff’s office, ensuring our deputies have the training and tools necessary to keep us safe, implementing fiscal responsibility, and defending the rural conservative principles we value.”

“As a County Councilman, I fought to lower taxes, reduce spending, and support the Sheriff’s Office to keep our families safe. As Sheriff, I’ll apply those same conservative principles to cut wasteful spending and ensure tax dollars are responsibly used,” Myers continued.

As Sheriff, Myers is focused on implementing commonsense conservative initiatives, including:

Partnering with the Frankfort Police Department, local town marshals, and Indiana State Police to combat dangerous crime.
Establishing a drug task force to remove dangerous and deadly drugs from Clinton County.
Supporting deputies with the training and equipment necessary to meet the highest professional standards.
Expanding inmate rehabilitation through education, substance abuse recovery, and faith-based programs to reduce recidivism.
Restoring integrity, transparency, and fiscal responsibility to the Sheriff’s Office.
Properly distributing commissary funds to support training, equipment, maintenance, and jail programs—reducing the burden on taxpayers.
Establishing career development and leadership training opportunities for Sheriff’s Office staff.

Born and raised in Clinton County, Jake Myers is a 28-year law enforcement veteran who began his career as a Clinton County Jail Officer in 1997 before joining the Frankfort Police Department as a full-time officer in 1998. He also served as a School Resource Officer at Frankfort High School and Middle School.
