Sara Lee Lecklitner, 68, of Lebanon, passed away October 16, 2026 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on February 2, 1958 in Frankfort to Donald Lee and Sara “Alice” (Loveless) Lecklitner.
Sara was a 1976 graduate of Clinton Central High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science at Purdue University. She worked for Indiana University in animal research. She loved cooking and animals. She was active in animal rescue, finding new homes for border collies.
Surviving are her brothers: Donald A. Lecklitner of Frankfort, Darryl C. Lecklitner of Frankfort, and David W. (Debbie) Lecklitner of Salem, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may visit from Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort. A Celebration of Sara’s life will be held at a later date.
