The Boone County Chamber Executive Director, Joslyn McGriff-Bensley, will be stepping down from her position at the Chamber, and pursuing her passion working for the Association of Junior Leagues International as the Vice President of Growth, Learning, and Engagement with her last official day at the Chamber being April 7, 2023.
McGriff-Bensley who stepped into her position as Executive Director in July of 2022, has enjoyed her time at the Chamber. “In my time with the Chamber, I’m proud of the internal systems and organizational infrastructure the staff has developed. With our new website and membership database, program enhancements, and renewed partnerships with community leaders, the Chamber is better poised for membership growth and meeting the needs of the growing county,” said Joslyn.
“Joslyn brought a new perspective to the position and the board with her background,” said Board President of the Chamber, Don Barrett. “She has been so energetic and willing to learn from others as she got herself up to speed. The Board of Directors and our Members loved working with her.”
Joslyn McGriff-Bensley began as the Executive Director with one thing on her mind, evolution. She stated throughout her time at the Chamber, that developing the Chamber to be more digital friendly, organized, and goal driven was her focus as Executive Director. In the first few months in her role, Joslyn hired a brand-new staff to help execute her goals for the new and improved Chamber. Her natural leadership and can-do personality exceeded members’ expectations and allowed the Chamber to thrive.
Successfully guiding the Chamber staff through an annual member breakfast, annual awards ceremony, several leadership programs, and a State of the Community event, McGriff-Bensley has shown not only her determination to the Boone County community, but has allowed her to develop various strong connections with community members. “I have sincerely enjoyed working with the fantastic business owners, volunteers, board members, and community partners in Boone County.”
As the Board of Directors searches, Joslyn plans on making her exit as smooth as possible for the Chamber staff and its Members. The Board of Directors has also begun identifying a new Executive Director. “We will update the job description and post the position in the next few days. If anyone is interested or knows someone interested in working for the Chamber, please get in touch with us! The Chamber has lots of exciting plans ahead,” said Barrett. “I will continue working with the Chamber on some strategic initiatives, as needed, and help to onboard the next executive director,” said McGriff-Bensley.
The Chamber staff and Board of Directors wish Joslyn nothing but the best on her next business endeavors!
