Jane Ellen Sharpe, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023, in Whitestown, Indiana. She was born March 31, 1943 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Rose) Sloan.
Jane graduated from Pike High School in 1961. She and her husband owned an operated American Water Treatment for over 25 years. After their divorce, she went on to work for a detective agency and later sold wedding dresses until her retirement.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was her entire world. She enjoyed traveling, dining, shopping, and music. Jane had a contagious smile, loved to laugh, and embraced life.
Survivors include her and siblings, Victor (Rebecca) Sloan of Indianapolis and Steven (Chris) Sloan of Martinsville; daughter, Wendy (James) Mohringer of Darlington; grandchildren, Emily (Saikat) Ghosh Roy, Riley Mateika, Lacy Sharpe, and Kitana Sharpe; and great grandchildren, Megha, Diya, Marlee, and Rebel.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death her sister, Donna J. Mendenhall, and son, James E. Sharpe.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 665 West 375 North, in Lebanon, Indiana. The family would like friends to wear their favorite color to the service as Jane would have wanted it to be a bright, colorful day. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with final arrangements.
