The Farmers Bank Announces Retirement of Brad Cunningham After 47-Year Banking Career

The Farmers Bank has announced the retirement of Brad Cunningham, Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer, following an accomplished 47-year career in banking, including 31 years of dedicated service to The Farmers Bank.

Throughout his career, Cunningham earned a reputation as a trusted banker, respected leader, and passionate advocate for the communities he served. A lifelong Clinton County resident, Frankfort High School graduate, and Indiana University alumnus, he has played an instrumental role in the growth and success of The Farmers Bank while helping countless businesses, families, and organizations achieve their goals.

A Career Defined by Leadership

Since joining The Farmers Bank in 1995, Cunningham has held a variety of leadership positions, including Retail Lender, Commercial Lender, Vice President of Commercial Lending, Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking, and currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer.

In his most recent role, Cunningham provided executive oversight for the bank’s commercial banking, retail banking, treasury management, communications, and business development functions. He has also served on numerous management and governance committees that helped guide the bank’s strategic direction and long-term growth and is wrapping up his tenure on the bank’s 150th anniversary committee.

Following his retirement, Cunningham will serve as a member of the First Bank Midwest Advisory Committee.

“Brad’s impact on The Farmers Bank extends far beyond his title,” said Chris Cook, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Farmers Bank. “For more than three decades, he has been a trusted leader, mentor, and champion for our customers, employees, and communities. His leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence have helped shape the bank we are today. His influence can be seen not only in our success as a bank, but in the countless relationships he has built throughout our communities. We are grateful for his service and wish him nothing but happiness in retirement.”

A Legacy of Community Service

In addition to his banking career, Cunningham has devoted decades to serving the Clinton County community. He has held leadership positions with numerous organizations, including the Frankfort Kiwanis Club, Clinton County Economic Advancement Foundation (CCEAF), United Way of Clinton County, Frankfort Jaycees, Clinton County YMCA, and the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce.

His dedication to community service reflects the values that have defined both his personal and professional life: integrity, leadership, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.
