Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Inmates & Staff Conduct 6th Annual Stockings For Soldiers Project

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted the 6th Annual Stockings for Soldiers project to send packages overseas to the nation’s deployed troops during the holiday season.

The men of JCAP and members of the department staff assembled 200 packages yesterday afternoon, which included playing cards, beef jerky, Chapstick, coffee, crosswords and more that will be sent to United States Military servicemembers for the holidays.

The Sheriff’s Office partners with the Yellow Ribbon Project in Cincinnati, Ohio, to ship the items to the overseas soldiers. Sheriff Rich Kelly expressed his gratitude for Combined Public Communications’ help with donating the items to be included in the packages as well as those who dedicated their time for the project.

“It is important to me to participate in service projects, not only to benefit our military but to involve inmates in opportunities for service,” Kelly said. “We are focusing on rehabilitation and mentoring these individuals while developing programs centered around community and giving back to those who do so much for us. Thank you to our staff and inmates for participating in this event.”

Kelly continued to comment on the significance of the project for those overseas as well as those in Clinton County and the department.

“This takes on a new meaning as our oldest has recently joined the United States Marine Corps,” Kelly said. “Our JCAP Coordinator, Jamie Bolinger, is also an Army veteran, as are several in our team. Ashley and I are so proud to serve Clinton County, and thank you for the support you continue to show our inmates and staff.”
